Kombinasi Latihan Aerobik dan Konsumsi Kunyit dapat Meningkatkan VO2Max Mahasiswa

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsumsi kunyit yang dikombinasikan dengan latihan aerobik terhadap kapasitas aerboik maksimal (VO2Max). 12 orang pria sehat berpartisipasi sebagai sampel. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitian randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design. Penelitian ini terbagi menjadi 2 periode dengan masing-masing periode berdurasi selama 2 minggu. Kunyit dikonsumsi secara oral dengan media kapsul sebanyak 2 kapsul (@ 550 mg) per hari selama periode treatment. Instrumen pengambilan data menggunakan Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test (CPET) dengan metode gas analysis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan perbedaan nilai rata-rata antara sebelum dan sesudah treatment pada kedua kelompok dengan signifikansi p>0.05, namun pada kelompok eksperimen terjadi peningkatan rata-rata nilai VO2Max meskipun tidak signifikan. Hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa kombinasi latihan aerobik dan konsumsi kunyit bisa berpotensi meningkatkan kapasitas aerobik maksimal.
