Abstract

This study examined whether visual media could improve university students’ sepak sila skills during sepak takraw instruction. A quantitative quasi-experimental approach was applied using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The participants were 40 students enrolled in a sepak takraw course who were selected purposively and assigned to an experimental group or a conventional-learning group. Skill performance was assessed with a one-minute sepak sila test. The data were processed using descriptive statistics, normality and homogeneity tests, paired samples t-tests, and an independent samples t-test. The experimental group improved from a mean score of 17.60 at pre-test to 25.50 at post-test, whereas the conventional group increased from 15.85 to 21.50. The between-group comparison produced p = 0.027, below the 0.05 significance level. These findings indicate that visual-media-supported instruction produced better sepak sila outcomes than the conventional approach used as the control condition.
